Advanced Blemish Removal

We’re excited to offer this course and for Klaire to teach her skills from originally training nearly 30 years ago in level 4 & 5. Advanced Blemish removal treatment has become popular over the last few years as most GP’s are no longer removing skin tags, milia, and other skin conditions on the NHS. Adding blemish removal to your treatment list puts you ahead of your competitors!

Electrolysis was first invented in 1875 for its use on an in-growing eyelash by a Dr Charles Michel (an ophthalmologist from Missouri USA)

Blemish removal is regarded as an aesthetic treatment for the safe removal of unwanted blemishes on the skin. It continues to be a viable treatment both in the beauty salon and clinic being a safe and effective procedure to other more invasive type of treatments. It has proven to be a very useful tool for treating those more difficult areas to reach and particular Fitzpatrick types which could otherwise not have laser and IPL.

Skin Blemish Removal also known as of Advanced Cosmetic Procedures (ACP or Advanced Electrolysis) is form of thermolysis. It also may be known as advanced electrolysis but has nothing to do with electrolysis (just use the same current) ACP is performed by applying a tiny probe (size of any eyelash) which directs a small current that removes/treats and cauterises the blemish. We carry out a diathermy wave to remove the blemishes on this course.

As Advanced Cosmetic Procedures (ACP) uses heat (thermolysis) for cauterisation, this makes it suitable for treatment and removal of a variety of different of blemishes or skin lesions. The removal can be instant or may take a few treatments on some occasions but is so popular as will not leave marks or scars (as ACP is a non surgical treatment), As thermolysis cauterises the difference between cryotherapy (freezing) is that is treats the root and the blemish will not grow back unlike freezing.
